A Modern Dandy !!

As you all know, I am a big fan of old chivalry and a bit of tradition in many respects..not that I think men should take aesthetics so far like the Dandies, but I am very impressed with Mr. Momoa's "Dandy" inspired look at "Conan the Barbarian" Premiere recently.

I have long been an advocate of gents scarfs and pochettes, so how could I not possibly like this very smart suit complete with waistcoat, pochette..and "pocket watch chain", and...haaa...modern rings!!!and glorious pair of glasses!!

Liam Gallagher...a very Mr. Kensington/not Kensington Bloke

Not only he is considered by many, " The greatest rock frontman of all time", Liam Gallagher has a very successful fashion business called, Pretty Green. I know this is not a  very recent photo, but Mrs. Kensington,  believes in timeless items, and loves this coat and the way it has been worn with jeans, and a turtle neck..It looks fantastic, and  it works for us here in Brazil right now, well, at least in Sao Paulo and the South truth be told...but boys beware..I guess only this very Mr. Gallagher can get away with this very, let's say, particularly "fashionista" hair do! no offense to his bro..(Well, what can I say...I am a fan of these green eyes!!!!!Mr. Kensington will kill me for this statement, oh dearrr)

Alem de ser considerado por muitos o maior "frontman" do rock de todos os tempo, Liam Gallagher tem um empresa de moda muito respeitada pelo exigente publico ingles, chamada Pretty Green. Eu bem sei que esta nao e a mais recente das fotos, mas Sra. Kensington, acredita que  muitos itens do guarda-roupa em geral sao classicos, e resistem as tendencias de cada estacao, e este casaco e um bom exemplo disso. Por outro lado, Mrs. Kensington acredita que somente este membro da familia Gallagher pode usar tao intrepido estilo de cabelo..mas o que posso dizer...sou uma fa dos olhos verdes de Liam, so handsomeee!.. ( agora me entreguei, must run away from Mr. Kensington!!)

Ascot 2011: Not a very good dress code choice...Good manners, a timeless outfit. O melhor traje a vestir e sempre as boas maneiras...Brigas no Royal Ascot 2011

 

It is such a pity when a beautiful and traditional event like Royal Ascot, gets suddenly so "ugly" when  "gentlemen", not as galant or elegant, drink way too much and end up emulating ,better forgotten scenes, that had already been watched by all of us in football stadiums worldwide....
"Ladies", that on the Traditional Ladies Day, display nothing of a ladylike behavior. All over the world, we are able to watch scenes like that, but this year's Ascot events reminded us that composure and good manners, are the best outfit to wear.   

E uma pena que um evento tao lindo obtenha uma face tao feia, quando "cavalheiros", nao tao bem educados, bebem demais e acabam brigando e emulando cenas dignas  de "hooligans" de jogos de futebol que queremos mais e esquecer!! "Damas", que em pleno "Ladies Day" em  Ascot, nao tem nada de ladies.  Em todo o lugar do mundo ha de tudo, mas os eventos do Ascot deste ano, novamente lembraram que a compustura e boa educacao, sao os melhores trajes a serem vestidos. 





Is it really Democracy, when people simply choose to forget the dress code rules and behavior rules of Ascot? This is an event frequented by Queen Elisabeth II, since 1945..Is it really a place for skin flashing and excess drinking?( not that the last should be done anywhere, but least at Ascot), I don't agree with this excess tolerance, because there are so many other places where people can be "themselves", do they really have to spoil a beautiful and awaited Day in British Calendar?

O "dress Code" para Ascot vem impresso nos convites, e um lugar para formalidade, pompa e circunstancia, frequentado pela Rainha Elisabeth II, sem interrupcao desde 1945, quando visitou Ascot pela primeira vez com seus pais. Ou seja, nao e lugar para roupas "peladas demais", excesso de tatuagens a mostra, e outras coisas

 mais "descoladas", e muito menos, para comportamentos de ultima categoria.  Mas parece que o excesso de vontade de se mostrar , a vulgaridade, a superficialidade, e os excessos em alcool e outras substancias de um modo geral, realmente afetam as pessoas, que nao sabem se auto-gerir. Eu pessoalmente considero um mal que esta no mundo inteiro. Com tantos lugares disponiveis para outros tipos de roupas e comportamentos? nem sempre e apropriado mostrar tudo e mais um pouco a "torto e a direito", praia existe para isso... Agora, brigas, essas nao devem ocorrer em lugar nenhum!!!
Democracia para essas pessoas mas nao pela identidade de Ascot? Isso para mim, nao e realmente democracia.

Not only hats have a very clear purpose, but they also very quickly put style on a simple outfit. Many say "they don't have a face" for hats...I'd say, it is more about attitude, or simply a way of dealing with weather's  swinging moods.


                                                               

   

 Fabric or Straw like above, hats will just add a lot of cool to an outfit, and panamas, are just the "must" !

Deixando de lado as rivalidades do futebol, Mrs. Kensington nao podia deixar de postar estes looks de Neymar  e Neymar Senior para a Revista Alfa. Claro que voce nao precisa arriscar tanto, e requisitar um "moicano" para seu cabelereiro, mas arrisque-se e misture risca de giz e xadrez, Neymar esta elegante e "cool" ao mesmo tempo!!

Mrs. Kensington  teve um encontro inusitado com la Daphne, em 2003, no Baile do Grande Premio de Silverstone, em Buckinghamshire.  Gente nao tem como definir esta mulher, ela tem muita bossa, muita personalidade, e unica!!! Adoroooo!! Boys, tem coisa melhor que uma mulher com personalidade e seguranca suficientes para arriscar tanto no look!?! mulherao!! Em um mundo onde, ainda ,as mulheres se vestem para os outros e nao para si mesmas. Daphne nao segue regras...ela as faz.


Mrs. Kensington had a very unusual encounter with la Daphne in 2003, at the Silverstone Grand Prix Ball, in Buckinghamshire. Daphne is not one to be defined, this lady has so much "bossa", and personality, she is unique!! I loveeee!! Boys, is there anything better than a woman confident enough to risk so much on her looks? she is a goddess, in a world where most women  still dress to please others. Daphne does not follow rules, she makes them.
